Day Bed
At Samz Design, we build day beds to order in our Shah Alam workshop, in upholstered and solid wood finishes, sized to your space and styled to sit with the rest of your living room. Whether you want a soft upholstered lounger for the TV room or a clean-lined wooden daybed for a sunlit corner, we build it to fit rather than making you fit around it.

One Piece That Does the Work of Three
Space is the real luxury in a Malaysian home, and a day bed earns its footprint better than almost anything else. During the day it is seating: somewhere to lounge, read, scroll or nap without committing to the bedroom. When guests stay over, it becomes a comfortable bed, so you do not keep a spare room sitting empty most of the year. In a studio or smaller condo, it can replace both the sofa and the guest bed entirely, freeing up floor space you did not know you had.
That flexibility is why day beds have moved from a nice-to-have to a genuinely smart buy, especially for apartment living where every piece of furniture has to justify the space it takes.
Our Day Bed Collection
Leez Upholstered Daybed
Our Leez Upholstered Daybed brings soft, sofa-like comfort in a form you can fully stretch out on. Available in a choice of colours, its upholstered surface is as comfortable for an afternoon nap as it is for an evening of TV, and it doubles as an occasional guest bed. The clean, low profile keeps a room feeling open rather than crowded.
Fabric choice matters for a piece you actually lie on, so we offer a range of upholstery options, all chosen to hold up to daily use. For the full range of soft furnishings, see our upholstered furniture.
Every day bed we make comes in custom sizes and finishes. Want it longer for a taller sleeper, in a specific fabric to match your room, or with a solid wood frame instead of fully upholstered? Tell us and we build it your way.

Day Bed vs Sofa Bed vs Bed: Which Do You Need?
A day bed is designed to look like a stylish lounge by day and work as a bed when needed, with no folding mechanism, which means nothing to break and a more comfortable surface to lie on. A sofa bed hides a mattress inside a sofa frame and suits a room where seating is the main job and a bed is occasional. A proper bed frame is the right choice for a dedicated bedroom where sleep is the only job. If your space needs to do double duty, a day bed usually wins on both comfort and simplicity.
Day Beds for Homes and Commercial Spaces
At home, a day bed suits a living room, a reading nook, a home office that doubles as a guest room, a child’s or teenager’s room, or a sunroom. For businesses, day beds work beautifully in hotel lounges, spa and wellness reception areas, waiting rooms, and boutique retail spaces that want comfortable, characterful seating. For project quantities and matched finishes, our B2B solutions service handles the order.
Day Beds FAQs
Can a day bed be used as an everyday bed?
Yes, a well-made day bed is comfortable enough for regular sleeping, not just occasional use. The key is the mattress or cushion quality and the right dimensions, which is where building to order helps: we size and spec the daybed for how often it will actually be slept on. If it is your main bed in a studio, tell us and we build it accordingly.
What size is a day bed in Malaysia?
Day beds are commonly built around single mattress dimensions, but because we make ours to order, you are not locked into a standard size. We can build to single, super single, or a custom length for a taller sleeper. Tell us the space and how it will be used and we recommend the right size.
What is the difference between a day bed and a sofa bed?
A day bed is a bed-shaped lounge that is always ready to lie on, with no folding or converting. A sofa bed is a sofa first, with a mattress that folds out when needed. Day beds are more comfortable to sleep on and have nothing mechanical to wear out, while sofa beds prioritise seating and hide the bed away. For comfort and simplicity, most people prefer a day bed.
Can I choose the fabric on an upholstered day bed?
Yes. The Leez Upholstered Daybed and any custom day bed can be built in your choice of fabric and colour from our upholstery range. If you later want to refresh the look, our cushion cover and upholstery service can re-cover it rather than replace it.
Does a day bed need a special mattress?
Day beds usually take a standard single or super single mattress, or a firm cushioned insert for a more sofa-like feel. Because we build to order, we advise on the right mattress or cushion depth for how you will use it, whether that is mostly seating with occasional sleeping or a genuine everyday bed.
Do you deliver day beds across Malaysia?
Yes, nationwide across Malaysia, with international shipping to Singapore, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UK and the US. Contact us for a delivery quote to your location.
