A bed frame must match your mattress to Malaysian sizing, not US or UK sizing, or you will be left with a visible gap or an overhang.
This is the single most common and most expensive mistake buyers make. A Malaysian queen mattress is not the same as an American queen. Order an imported frame and the numbers will not line up. Here are the standard Malaysian mattress sizes to build around:

One more measurement people forget: floor clearance. A king frame at 183 cm wide needs a bedroom around 3.5 metres wide to leave a comfortable 50 to 60 cm walkway on each side. If your room is tighter than that, a queen or a custom-width frame will serve you far better than squeezing in a king you have to edge around every night. Why Solid Teak Is the Right Bed Frame Material in Malaysia

Four questions get you to the right frame, in this order.
- What mattress size do you have, or plan to buy? Match the frame to Malaysian sizing exactly. This is non-negotiable.
- How wide is the room? Leave 50 to 60 cm of walkway on each side. If the numbers do not allow a king, a custom width often solves it better than dropping a full size.
- Do you read or sit up in bed? If yes, an upholstered headboard like the Rumi or RMI is far more comfortable than solid timber against your back.
