• Seat height. The seat should sit about 25 to 30 cm below the tabletop. If your table is custom or non-standard, measure first and tell us the height, because a standard 45 cm seat may not be right.
• Arms or no arms. Armless chairs tuck under the table and save space, which suits most Malaysian dining rooms. Armchairs are more comfortable for long meals but need more room.
• Indoor or outdoor. For air-conditioned indoor rooms, teak, rattan or upholstered chairs all work. For outdoor or poolside dining, powder-coated aluminium with rope or outdoor fabric is the durable choice.

What is the best material for dining chairs in Malaysia?
Solid teak and powder-coated aluminium are the strongest choices for the Malaysian climate. Teak handles indoor humidity without warping and only looks better with age. Aluminium with powder coating resists rust, sun and rain for outdoor dining. MDF and particleboard chairs tend to swell and loosen at the joints in humid air.

What height should a dining chair be?
The seat should sit about 25 to 30 cm below the tabletop. For a standard 75 cm table, that means a seat height around 45 to 48 cm. If your dining table is custom or a different height, let us know and we match the chair to it exactly.
